Frequently Asked Questions — Answered
How often should my HVAC be serviced?
We recommend yearly maintenance at the beginning of spring and fall (filter change out is highly important).
Do I need to worry about the outdoor HVAC unit components?
Yes: with all the components working properly you will save money on your utility bills and avoid costly repairs when these are maintained.
What are air ducts and how do they affect airflow?
Good clean air ducts distribute air evenly throughout the home. Most duct registers have the option to open or close off air to a room. Closing them can eventually cause airflow restriction and put strain on your furnace. We highly recommend that you never close or block registers or returns.
What is the most common HVAC problem you see?
Replacing furnace filters. When you don’t change filters it can cause airflow restriction and high strain on the furnace. This can create damage on multiple components no matter how old or new your system.
There isn’t any HVAC system out there that is maintenance free. Tune-ups are highly encouraged—ignoring them can end up with a costly repair. We’re always happy to give a free second opinion, as well.
