My furnace is making a strange noise. What does it mean?
Furnaces speak their own language, and strange sounds are usually a cry for help.

  • Rattling: Can mean loose panels or, more seriously, a cracked heat exchanger (which is a safety concern regarding carbon monoxide).

Why is my air conditioner freezing up?
Ice on your AC unit is usually caused by one of two things: restricted airflow or low refrigerant levels. If your air filter is dirty, air cannot pass over the evaporator coil effectively, causing the temperature to drop and freeze the condensation. Check your filter first. If the filter is clean, you likely have a refrigerant leak or mechanical issue, which requires professional AC repair to handle safely and legally.
How do I know if I should repair or replace my system?

How do you determine what size HVAC system I need?
Size matters, and bigger isn't always better. An oversized unit will short-cycle (turn on and off too fast), wearing out parts and failing to dehumidify your home. An undersized unit will run forever and never reach your target temperature. How long does an installation take?

How often should I have my air ducts cleaned?
For most homes in Utah, we recommend professional duct cleaning every 3 to 5 years. However, if you have pets that shed, family members with allergies or asthma, smokers in the home, or have recently completed a home renovation project (drywall dust is a major culprit), you may need it sooner.
Will duct cleaning really improve my airflow?
