Transparency is our policy. When our licensed technician arrives at your home, the process typically follows these steps:
  1. Inspect: We thoroughly check the system to find the root cause, not just the symptom.
  2. Diagnose: We explain exactly what is wrong using clear, non-technical language.
  3. Explain Options: We provide repair or replacement options with straightforward pricing—no pressure.
  4. Complete Work: With your approval, we complete the work efficiently and tidily.
  5. Test: We never leave until we’ve tested the system to ensure it is running at peak performance.

Repairs & Troubleshooting

My furnace is making a strange noise. What does it mean?
Furnaces speak their own language, and strange sounds are usually a cry for help.
  • Banging: Often indicates ignition issues (delayed ignition) or duct expansion/contraction.
  • Squealing: Usually points to a slipped belt (on older units) or motor bearing failure.
  • Humming or surging: On variable-speed blower systems, this can point to ECM motor or control issues.
  • Rattling: Can mean loose panels or, more seriously, a cracked heat exchanger (which is a safety concern regarding carbon monoxide).
If you hear anything unusual, turn the system off and schedule a furnace repair diagnostic immediately to prevent further damage.
Why is my air conditioner freezing up?
Ice on your AC unit is usually caused by one of two things: restricted airflow or low refrigerant levels. If your air filter is dirty, air cannot pass over the evaporator coil effectively, causing the temperature to drop and freeze the condensation. Check your filter first. If the filter is clean, you likely have a refrigerant leak or mechanical issue, which requires professional AC repair to handle safely and legally.
How do I know if I should repair or replace my system?
We use the "50% Rule" as a general guide. If the cost of the repair approaches 50% of the value of a new system, or if your unit is over 12–15 years old and out of warranty, replacement is often the smarter financial move. However, if your system is young and the repair is minor, we will always recommend the fix first. We believe in honest advice, not pushing unnecessary sales.
Why is my home heating or cooling unevenly?
Uneven temperatures are a common complaint in multi-story Utah homes. This is often caused by ductwork issues, blocked vents, undersized return air, or an improperly balanced system. It can also be a sign that your blower motor is struggling. Our HVAC repair technicians can perform an airflow assessment to determine if you need duct sealing, balancing dampers, or perhaps a zoning system upgrade.

New Installations & Replacements

How do you determine what size HVAC system I need?
Size matters, and bigger isn't always better. An oversized unit will short-cycle (turn on and off too fast), wearing out parts and failing to dehumidify your home. An undersized unit will run forever and never reach your target temperature. We perform a proper load calculation taking into account your home’s square footage, insulation, windows, and local Utah climate data to ensure your AC installation or furnace installation is perfectly sized for efficiency.
What are the benefits of a heat pump in Utah?
Heat pumps are the standard for efficient home comfort in 2026. They move heat rather than generating it, offering high performance in Utah's climate. Modern cold-climate heat pumps provide steady warmth even in sub-zero Wasatch winters. Many residents now choose heat pump installation or "dual fuel" systems to capitalize on federal tax credits and maximize year-round energy savings.
What is a mini-split and is it right for me?
A ductless mini-split is a flexible heating and cooling system that doesn't require ductwork. It is perfect for basements, home additions, garages, or older homes in areas like Lehi or Sandy that rely on boiler heat. Mini-split installation allows for "zoning," meaning you can control the temperature in that specific room independently from the rest of the house.
How long does an installation take?
Most residential replacements are completed in one day. Our team arrives on time, protects your flooring with drop cloths, removes the old equipment, installs the new system (transitioning to existing ductwork/gas/electric), and tests it thoroughly. We take pride in leaving your home cleaner than we found it.

Duct Cleaning Strategy

How often should I have my air ducts cleaned?
For most homes in Utah, we recommend professional duct cleaning every 3 to 5 years. However, if you have pets that shed, family members with allergies or asthma, smokers in the home, or have recently completed a home renovation project (drywall dust is a major culprit), you may need it sooner.
Will duct cleaning really improve my airflow?
Absolutely. Over time, layers of dust, pet dander, and construction debris restrict the volume of air that can move through your vents. This forces your blower motor to work harder, increasing energy bills and shortening the life of your furnace. Cleaning the ducts and internal components (like the blower wheel shown in the image) restores proper airflow and efficiency.
Does duct cleaning help with allergies?
Yes. Your HVAC system recirculates the air in your home 5 to 7 times per day. If your ducts are filled with allergens, pollen, and dust mites, you are constantly breathing that recirculated debris. A thorough cleaning removes these contaminants from the cycle, contributing significantly to better indoor air quality.
Comparison of dirty and clean HVAC ducts and blower motor
Actual results: A clean blower motor moves more air with less energy.

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)

What indoor air quality services do you offer?
We offer comprehensive indoor air quality services designed specifically for Utah's dry, dust-prone climate. This includes the installation of air purification systems to kill viruses and bacteria, whole-house humidifiers to combat dry winter air, and advanced high-efficiency filtration upgrades. We assess your home and recommend solutions that integrate directly into your central HVAC system for whole-home coverage.
How often should I change my furnace filter?
Check your filter once a month. Standard 1-inch filters typically need replacing every 1–3 months depending on usage and pets. If you have a specific 4-inch or 5-inch media filter, they may last 6–12 months. A clogged filter is the #1 cause of system failure and frozen AC coils, so keeping it clean is the easiest way to protect your investment.
Why is the air in my house so dry in the winter?
Utah winters are naturally dry, and running your furnace lowers the relative humidity inside even further. This can cause dry skin, static electricity, nosebleeds, and increased susceptibility to colds. A whole-house humidifier works with your furnace to add moisture back into the air automatically, keeping your home in the healthy humidity range (30-50%).
